KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A New Beginning in Osceola County with a Unique Attraction
As the new year unfolds, so does the opportunity to explore exciting destinations in Osceola County. One such addition is designed to promote health and even inspire a new hobby.
1 .Crush Yard Opens Soon in Kissimmee
Occupying a 48,000-square-foot space that once housed a grocery store, Crush Yard is gearing up to welcome visitors. Instead of aisles of produce, the facility now features 10 pickleball courts, offering a vibrant and engaging experience.
2. A Destination for Pickleball Enthusiasts
Evan Addington, the Pickleball Director at this location, describes Crush Yard as more than just a sports facility—it’s a pickleball, bar, and lounge destination rolled into one.
3. Evan’s Journey to Pickleball
Previously a tennis coach at a nearby hotel, Evan was introduced to pickleball when his employer encouraged him to explore the growing sport.
“I was told, ‘Hey, there’s this fun pickleball game coming, and we need someone to learn it,’” Evan shared, reflecting on how his journey with pickleball began.
4. A Blend of Competition and Fitness
Evan notes that while pickleball can be competitive, it’s also a fantastic way to kickstart a healthier lifestyle in 2025.
“The court is small, requiring quick movements,” he explained. “The speed of pickleball keeps you engaged while still allowing you to see progress. It’s the perfect balance.”
5. Inclusivity and Expansion
Crush Yard offers coaching sessions, ensuring kids can join in the fun too. The Kissimmee location marks the second Crush Yard facility in the U.S., following the original in Charleston, South Carolina. With plans to open two additional locations in 2025, Kissimmee boasts the largest facility to date.
