Big news for Pickleball lovers is that Bill Martin Memorial Pickleball Tournament for Thrive Alliance set for May 4, 2024 .
The 2024 edition of the Bill Martin Memorial Pickleball Tournament, organized in collaboration with the Columbus Pickleball Club, is back with a fresh identity and renewed energy.
This year, the tournament pays tribute to the late Bill Martin, a vibrant Pickleball enthusiast who maintained an affable demeanor despite his battle with Alzheimer’s Disease in the past few years. Bill’s unwavering spirit and support for Pickleball continued even after his diagnosis, leaving a lasting impact on the community. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2022.
All proceeds generated from the tournament will be directed towards supporting Thrive Alliance’s Dementia and Care Partners Program. These programs are dedicated to keeping individuals engaged within their communities while providing essential support and respite care to their caregivers.
The venue for this year’s event is the expansive CERA Sports Park and Campground in Columbus, boasting 18 Pickleball Courts.
Participants can expect an exhilarating round-robin scramble format across five divisions: Beginner (2.0-2.5), Recreational (2.5-3.0), Intermediate (3.0-3.5), Competitive (3.5-4.0), and Advanced (4.0+). Each division will accommodate a maximum of 16 players.
Registration for the tournament is priced at $40 per person.
