Manassas Mall is gearing up to introduce a new attraction for pickleball enthusiasts this summer – indoor courts! Scheduled to open on June 8th, Dill Dinkers, a dedicated pickleball facility, will occupy a spacious 16,000-square-foot area within the mall premises.
The facility will boast six fenced courts designed in an outdoor style, alongside event spaces and a pro shop where players can purchase equipment and apparel.
Offering a variety of services, including leagues, clinics, and classes, Dill Dinkers aims to cater to both seasoned players and newcomers alike.
During the opening week, newcomers can experience the sport firsthand through free open play sessions facilitated by the Court Reserve mobile app.
While membership is not mandatory to utilize the courts, members will benefit from reduced fees, paying $7.50 per hour compared to the $15 fee for visitors. Similarly, open play sessions cost $7.50 for members and $15 for non-members.
Overseeing operations at the Manassas location is Gage Tutko, who emphasizes the inclusivity and enjoyment of pickleball, noting its appeal across different age groups and skill levels.
Notably, the Manassas facility will feature cushion courts, a first for Dill Dinkers, providing players with a more comfortable playing surface that minimizes impact on joints and the body.
The expansion of Dill Dinkers is indicative of the sport’s growing popularity, with plans for 30 new locations by year-end and approximately 300 in development.
