Pickleball Kingdom has unveiled plans to establish 15 new indoor pickleball centers along Florida’s East Coast.
As pickleball continues to hold the title of the fastest-growing sport in the United States, this expansion aims to cater to its increasing fanbase and convert more tennis enthusiasts into pickleball players.
These upcoming facilities will feature climate-controlled indoor courts, lounge areas, and training programs, offering players a comfortable environment to enjoy the sport.
The indoor setup is expected to attract participants who may be hesitant to play outdoors due to extreme weather conditions, creating an inclusive platform for enthusiasts year-round.
“We are excited to bring Pickleball Kingdom to the vibrant communities of Florida’s East Coast through this multi-location initiative.
Florida’s pickleball community is among the strongest in the nation,” said Ace Rodrigues, Founder and CEO of Pickleball Kingdom.
The sport’s rapid rise has drawn attention from former tennis professionals, with many transitioning into competitive pickleball. Tennis stars like Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka have also dabbled in the game, reflecting its growing appeal.
Experts predict that pickleball could surpass tennis in popularity in the coming years.
Australian Open Welcomes Pickleball
As pickleball’s global popularity soars, the Australian Open has announced the inclusion of pickleball in its upcoming events. The Grand Slam tournament will host the AO Pickleball Slam during its final weekend.
“Pickleball is a sport for everyone, and its rapid global growth highlights its unique ability to unite people from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
By integrating pickleball into the Australian Open, we are embracing the future of racket sports and creating a memorable experience for players and fans alike,” said Tom Larner, Tennis Australia’s Chief Tennis Officer.
The event, set to take place from January 24 to 26 at Melbourne Park’s Court 3, will feature a prize pool of $100,000.
This milestone not only underscores pickleball’s expanding influence but also its potential to coexist alongside traditional racket sports on the world stage.
With initiatives like Pickleball Kingdom’s expansion and the sport’s integration into high-profile events like the Australian Open, pickleball’s trajectory toward becoming a global sensation seems unstoppable.
