New Delhi: Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the renowned actress, has become the owner of Team Chennai in the World Pickleball League.
In a heartfelt post, she shared what this achievement means to her.
Alongside a video, she reflected on her journey, saying, “To the little girl in class 3 who wanted to play with her brothers but was told she couldn’t because rough play was for boys and she was ‘too tiny.’
To the girl in class 8 who was urged to focus on getting perfect grades in Math, with volleyball being deemed less important. To the class 10 prefect who prioritized academics, believing that board exams were the most crucial.”
Samantha also highlighted the importance of sports in her life, stating, “Over the years, I have realized how vital sports and physical activity are.
Picking up a pickleball team wasn’t just a choice; it was a commitment. It’s a salute to the younger version of me and a pledge to every little girl who’s ever been told she couldn’t do something. We’re here to prove that we absolutely can.”
She ended her message by emphasizing, “Movement is key to building a healthier, fitter, and happier India—it begins with believing in the power of play.”
Samantha also took to Instagram to announce this “new chapter,” writing, “Exciting News! I’m thrilled to partner with World Pickleball and join as the owner of the Chennai Franchise. Pickleball fever is spreading across India. Let’s get moving, India.”
On the professional front, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was last seen in the film “Kushi,” alongside Vijay Deverakonda. She is also set to star in a new project titled “Bangaram,” which she announced on her birthday this year.
Additionally, she will appear in the series “Citadel: Honey Bunny,” directed by Raj and DK, featuring Varun Dhawan, Kay Kay Menon, and Sikandar Kher. The series is expected to release in November this year.
