Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNS/VNA) – Vietnam is gearing up to host the inaugural World Pickleball Championship (WPC) Series – Asia Pacific from April 3-9 at Resort Carmelina in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.
This leg of the WPC Series – Asia Pacific, comprising 12 tournaments across different countries, is the first of its kind to be held in Vietnam. Following Vietnam’s event, eight more tournaments are slated for Asia, with an additional four set for Australia, all leading up to the WPC finals.
The tournament in Vietnam will see the participation of 300 athletes, including 220 foreign players, competing across various categories such as men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
To cater to different age groups and physical abilities, the competition will also include divisions based on age.

Pickleball, a sport played with paddles and a plastic ball over a net, has been rapidly gaining popularity since its introduction to Vietnam in 2018.
With approximately 25 pickleball clubs now established across the country, the sport has seen significant growth in recent years.
Luu Thuy Dung, a member of the organizing committee, expressed her dedication to ensuring the success of this prestigious tournament and its role in promoting pickleball’s growth in Vietnam and beyond.
“I hope that this tournament will be a catalyst for the sport’s development not only in Vietnam but also worldwide,” Dung remarked.
Moreover, Vietnam is set to host the final event of the WPC Series – Asia Pacific in January 2025.
