To commemorate the occasion, the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) released data highlighting the rapid growth of pickleball around the world.

India ranks first in terms of growth rate, while the United States continues to have the largest number of pickleball enthusiasts.

Pickleball is one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, with competitions being organized across various countries.

In the United States alone, a recent report indicated that more than 10% of tennis courts have been converted into pickleball courts.

DUPR has also shared data on the top 10 countries with the highest number of active pickleball players and those experiencing the fastest growth.

This data includes nations that have recently started organizing pickleball events, as well as the countries with the most active players based on matches played per player.

Top 10 Countries with the Largest Pickleball Communities

The United States, where the sport originated, unsurprisingly leads with the highest number of pickleball players globally. Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia follow closely behind. Other countries in the top 10 include Puerto Rico, Vietnam, the Philippines, Mexico, and China.

India has seen the fastest growth in pickleball participation, with Thailand, Venezuela, China, and the Philippines also experiencing a surge in new players.

Mexico, Japan, South Africa, France, and the United Kingdom have similarly witnessed significant growth in the sport.

Additionally, pickleball has started gaining traction in countries like Sri Lanka, Brunei, Qatar, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Honduras, El Salvador, Lebanon, Iran, Ghana, and Paraguay.

Top 10 Countries with the Most Active Players Per Match in 2024

Hungary ranks first in terms of average matches played per athlete for the year 2024, followed by Australia. Tanzania, Poland, and Peru complete the top five, while Trinidad and Tobago, Belgium, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Canada also make the list.
